The inaugural Dash & Splash is done and dusted. On Saturday June 27, Sandgate turned it on for the Law Enforcement Torch Run QLD, and BOTWRIGHT was proud to be there as major partner.
102 people registered. The sun was out, the pool was cold in the best way, and the morning delivered exactly what it promised. A 5km walk or run alongside Park Run, a lap in the outdoor pool, then breakfast and event shirts for everyone who took part.
A Morning Worth Showing Up For
Police recruits, students from St Patrick’s College and Special Olympics athletes all lined up together. That mix is what made the morning special. Not a fun run with a charity attached. A genuine community event built around inclusion, with the run and the splash as the excuse to bring everyone together.
What It Was All For
Every dollar raised goes toward sending Queensland’s Special Olympics athletes to Melbourne this October for the Special Olympics National Games. That’s the whole point of the morning. Recruits, students and locals turning out on a Saturday so athletes get their shot at the national stage.
Proud to Have Been Part of It
BOTWRIGHT featured on the back of this year’s event shirts, and we’re glad our name was attached to something this good. Sandgate came together, the weather cooperated, and 102 people made it a morning to remember.
